Nick de Vetten studied at Wageningen University, the Netherlands, followed by a PhD in plant molecular biology at the University of Florida, US. After a postdoc at the department of Genetics, Free University in Amsterdam, he moved in 1998 to AVEBE as program manager Biotechnology. In 2006 he joined Averis Seeds, a 100% subsidiary of AVEBE, dedicated to develop starch potato variety. As research manager Averis Seeds he is responsible from many projects aimed at marker-assisted breeding, genetic transformation and disease resistance.
