dr. M.T.J. (Michiel) de BothProgram Scientist Keygene N.V. Michiel de Both is a plant cell biologist and geneticist by training with a PhD from Imperial College London. For 7 years he worked with the Groupe Limagrain, both in the UK and France, on the development of gene transfer technologies for vegetable species. In 1991, he joined KeyGene in Wageningen, the Netherlands as project leader of genetic transformation of various vegetables. He has been responsible for many projects aimed at fungus resistance, virus resistance, nematode resistance, marker-free transformation methods, BAC library construction and physical mapping. Since 2004, De Both holds the position of Program Scientist of KeyGene's Molecular Mutagenesis platform, a group of 12 scientists dedicated to the development of non-transgenic methods to improve plant traits, including the KeyPoint and KeyBase technologies. << back to overview |
