Dirk Jan Kennes is the global strategist for farm inputs at Food & Agribusiness Research and Advisory (FAR) in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Dirk Jan and his team publish research on macroeconomic trends and industry dynamics in the field of farm inputs, provide strategic corporate advice, and assist asset management firms in agricultural commodity markets investments. FAR is part of Rabobank International.

Dirk Jan’s global team consists of specialists who identify and interpret macroeconomic industry trends concerning farm inputs to determine their likely effect on industry and company dynamics. The field of farm inputs includes fertilizers, agricultural chemicals, seed, farming equipment and animal nutrition. Dirk Jan and his team use their expertise and the knowledge they create to offer management assistance to internationally operating F&A companies. These companies face strategic choices arising from dynamics within the farm inputs industry.

Before joining Rabobank, Dirk Jan held management positions within the F&A market. He was a member of the Kemin Food Ingredients management team. Before that, he was business manager responsible for Feed at Purac, a CSM subsidiary. He has also worked for Akzo Nobel, where he was involved in the marketing and sales management of feed ingredients.

Dirk Jan was born and raised in the Netherlands. He studied agronomy, majoring in animal nutrition. Dirk Jan also holds an MBA from TSM Business School in the Netherlands.
